Injuries That Can Benefit From Chiropractic Care

Following a personal injury of any kind, it’s possible to have lingering trauma. Most people have experienced minor bruising from falling down or accidentally cutting themselves when preparing a lunch using a knife. Fortunately, many of these situations are easily manageable, and while we may find ourselves in pain, this pain will often go away after a week or less. Unfortunately, not every personal injury is like this, and even something that may seem like a minor fall can cause you to have lingering pain for weeks, months, or indefinitely. As such, you may want to explore chiropractic care. We’ll detail five examples of personal injuries that can benefit from seeing a chiropractor:

1. Car Crashes

Regarding chiropractic care, many people think of car crash victims. Unfortunately, even as modern cars are becoming safer, many crashes happen yearly. Furthermore, the injuries sustained from these crashes can range from minor scrapes to life-threatening injuries. While we think of chiropractic care as something we pursue after getting help from our primary care provider, chiropractic care can also help you avoid invasive surgery. Of course, seeing a chiropractor should never be a substitute for seeing your primary care provider.

2. Slips and Falls

Whether or not a slip and fall lead to extensive, long-lasting injuries can depend upon factors like the height you fell from, the surface you fell onto, and how you fell. Another factor that can influence how much damage you sustain is your age. As we get older, our muscles and bones tend to get weaker. For example, a typical fall in our 20s may only result in some minor bruising and having to take over-the-counter painkillers for the next couple of days. However, that same fall can result in severe trauma for someone much older.

3. Medical Malpractice

Medical malpractice can include a patient being prescribed the wrong prescription, having a foreign object like a sponge left in their body, a physician performing the wrong operation, etc. Regardless, medical malpractice can have disastrous effects and make a patient’s health worse. In some cases, chiropractic care can help undo the damage caused by medical malpractice.

4. Dog Bites

It’s easy to forget that alongside dogs being friendly and cuddly, they can also be dangerous. Dog bites can cause serious injuries, especially if a dog bites you more than once. Besides the bite itself, you may find your body jerking weirdly in a way that’s not natural to get away. This process may result in you sustaining serious neck, back, or shoulder injuries or stiffness, which chiropractic care can help with.

5. Product Liability

Products released to the general public should always undergo a strict vetting process. Unfortunately, a product can sometimes slip through the cracks and injure users upon release. Depending upon the injury sustained following using the defective product, you may benefit from chiropractic care. When you need a chiropractor, it helps to know what to look for.
